How did this happen????

What is happening to my baby??? Eli is on his 3rd shoe size since coming home. He has grown about 3 inches and, luckily, has only gained about 2lbs. Sigh...he was supposed to stay small for at least a little while. He had just started walking when he was placed in our arms forever. Now he is running everywhere, climbing everything, doing somersaults, almost jumping, has a serious throwing arm (a lefty so far!), and is saying new words almost everyday. But, have I mentioned how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hearing the very fast pitter-patter of his feet and his silly squeals of delight as he runs around the house?

Eli came home comfortably wearing these shoes! A size 4, which he quickly outgrew within about 3 weeks. I bet he could curl his toes around the edge now!
He moved onto size 5, which lasted about 7 weeks or so as his toes slowly started to creep over the edge and we were on the last 1/4 inch of velcro.
He is now in a size 6, but probably not for long...
Oh, and can someone tell me why children's shoes are so freakin' expensive??? Good grief!! Thank goodness I found the clearance rack today and bought the next size up, which he will probably wear for a month!

Can you say linebacker!?!? WHOA!
Eli, I think we have to accept that there is no slowing you down... you need big feet to keep that running, climbing, tumbling body going!

Cute post.

How are you?!?!?

Darn Steph! I just sold tons of Matthew's shoes in our garage sale for dirt cheap--Nike Shox, barely worn, for $10, etc. I should have given it more thought and offered them to you first. To give you some perspective, Matthew is just over 3 years old and is just now in a size 9--his feet grow pretty slowly I guess. Lucky for us! Definitely check clearance racks and if you find a style you love, buy a few pairs. Boys are so much fun aren't they??!!

Oh My Goodness you have a big boy!!!

Yes, kids stuff is expensive and I am running out of things I bought while we were waiting on him (I stopped at 24 months). Thank you for reminding me to go to the resale shop at the church around the corner this weekend!

I swear Eli gets cuter every day! Great story about the hippo!

Can Reese have his hand me downs??? Geez, glad Reese's foot hasn't grown that fast!!

Looks like the zoo was fun. You know, he really is getting big Mom. You must be exhausted by the end of the day!!

Actually, do you notice there's LOTS of girls shoes on clearance and in the sale section? Not the boyz, though - well, we only get like 5 shoes choices per store, right? Compared to the 137 choices girls get! lol

I'm telling you, Reese is a long lost brother. He sounds just like A and L. They wake up running!

Good luck shoe shopping!
