The Beauty of Antigua

During our pick-up trip, we stayed in an apartment in Antigua since we had no idea when we would be returning home. So, we had lots of opportunities to explore the beauty of Antigua. It is impossible not to fall instantly in love with this very special place. The sounds, sights, smells, and people are etched in my heart. Here are a few photos from our explorations. These are a mix of photos taken by us, my parents, and Jason's parents. Who's ready to book the next flight out? Enjoy!

I love it!!!
It is a very special city. When growing up I loved going with my parents and play hide and seek in Capuchina, we also visited and stayed with the nuns friends of my mom at San Juan del Obispo (food there was great). In my teenage years (15-17) we used to have our parents take us and drop us off at the Radisson Hotel/Villas for swimming, horse back riding and look at boys, later when I could actually go out with boys Antigua was the place to either go party at night or the romantic place were someone would take you during the day by motorcycle or at night by car for dinner and a walk in the park. Of course if you had no one to take you you could always go with your girlfriends to hang out at Doña Luisa, Cafe Opera, Hotel Antigua, walk around, etc. As I became an adult it then change into the cultural place to go see operas at el Cerro de la Cruz, Concerts at Casa Santo Domingo (where I got married), attend weddings, graduations, art expos, etc. Work wise Antigua is was the ultimate planning sessions destination, peaceful and inspiring. Now living half time abroad and with my little ones, Antigua is back to being the place to go play hide and seek in Capuchinas!!

PS. Can I make a link to your slide show in my blog?
